Abstract
Creative industry is one of the most attractive industry in the 21st century. The core of the creative industry is innovation, which is the soul of the devel- opment of the city. Creative industry has the cultural, intellective and industrial connotation. The development of creative industry means much to the promotion of city competitativeness. The role of creative industry in the development of the city in- cludes increasing cultural tastes, enhancing knowledge capability and improving indus- try structure of the city. Grasping the char- acteristics and the trends of the creative in- dustry and the main modes of the develop- ment of creative industry has great impor- tance to promote the city competitativeness of Nanjing.
