Abstract
Objective To investigate the prognostic value of serum C-reactive protein (CRP) peak levels in the patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI).Methods The scatter turbidimetry was used to determine the serum levels of CRP in 72 patients with AMI.Results The serum CRP peak levels in higher Killip classes group were obviouslyhigher than those in lower Killip classes group (P0.01).The serum CRP peak levels in cardiac events group (including congestive heart failure, reinfarction, severe arrhythmias within the 6 months of follow-up and cardiac death during hospitalization and follow-up period) was significantly higher than that of no cardiac events group (P0.01).Conclusion The serum CRP peak levels are valuable for estimating the prognosis of patients with AMI.
