Abstract

The reform of corporatization of national universities has been hotly debated in Japan.Some people agree with the university corporatization,but others oppose it.The different arguments and opinions are much related with two philosophies of higher education,namely,the epistemological philosophy of higher education and the political philosophy of higher education.A philosophical analysis of the different opinions on the university corporatization can deepen our understanding of the process of the corporatization of Japanese national universities.
