Abstract

Pulsed field gel electrophoresis(PFGE) is an important technique of gel electrophoresis which can be used to separate large DNA molecules. The principles, methods and influencing factors of PFGE were introduced. Its application in the research field of microorganism molecular typing, the DNA damage and repair by radiation, cell apoptosis and transgenic technology were reviewed.
