Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the significance of urodynamic detection before operation in the patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH).Methods:306 cases of BPH were performed the urodynamic detect before operation and the status of symptomatic improvements after operation were analyzed. Results:The cases of preoperative bladder outlet obstruction(BOO) complicating mildly impairing or basically normal detrusor function had more satisfactory effects. The most cases of complicating contraction function impairment of detrusor muscle were recovered with unblocked urination and alleviation or disappearance of frequent micturition within postoperative 1 month.Among 60 cases of poor therapeutic effects at half a year after surgery, the detrusor instability(DI) occurred in 13 cases, low compliance of detrusor muscle in 17 cases, detrusor under activity(DUA) in 25 cases and BOO in 5 cases. Conclusion:The main causes leading to the poor therapeutic effects of prostatectomy in BPH patients are related with detrusor function damage.Urodynamic detection has the important guiding function in correctly judging whether the patients has BOO,evaluating the detrusor function, choosing the treatment scheme and the operation time for BPH,especially predicting the effect of prostatectomy, evaluation and searching of the causes of poor therapeutic effects.
