Exploration on the timeliness and safety of tramadol and meperidine in epidural shivering

OBJECTIVE To analyze the timeliness and safety of two commonly used clinical drugs that tramadol and meperidine in epidural shivering.METHODS 110 cases with epidural chills were selected from our hospital after fracture of tibia and fibula plate removal surgery.And they were given 1mg/kg of tramadol intravenous injection in tramadol group;in meperidine group,0.5mg/kg of meperidine intravenous injection,while the two groups of patients were treated with 1mg/kg of ondansetron intravenous injection,the disappearance time of shivering adverse reactions during treatment were observed.RESULTS The onset time in tramadol group was significantly faster than in meperidine group(P﹤0.05),two groups of patients had no significant difference in efficiency(P﹥0.05),the incidences of nausea and vomiting,thirst in two groups were different(P﹤0.05),the incidence of sleepiness was less in tramadol group than that in the meperidine group(P﹥0.05).CONCLUSION Both tramadol and meperidine can be effective against shivering,but the onset of tramadol is faster and more secure than meperidine.
