Abstract

In this paper, the tensile shear strengths of PVC wood-plastic composites with two adhesives were tested according to Chinese standard GB / T 7124-2008(Adhesives-Determination of tensile lap-shear strength of rigid-to-rigid bonded assemblies). It was found that glue-blocks bonded with epoxy adhesive and J-39 Acrylic adhesive were broken all at the bonding materials itself outside the bonding region, leading to bonding strength not being compared between two adhesives. In order to compare bonding strength of glued joints with two adhesives, the thickness of specimen consisted of glued joints will be increased to 4 mm from 1.6 mm.The results showed that tensile shear strength of PVC wood-plastic composites glued joints with epoxy adhesive is higher than that of acrylic adhesive.
