Abstract

Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of Measles attenuated live vaccine(MV) supplementary immunization activities(SIA)in Jiangsu province in 2009,and to provide the basis for elimination of measles.Methods Collecting measles epidemiology data before and after MV SIAs in 2009,and the data in the first half of 2010.Analyze the data with descriptive epidemiology.Results MV SIAs were implemented between March and April in 2009,and the total population immunized was 9,680,000.The coverage rate was 97.18%.The measles incidents come to a sharp drop in the second half of 2009 and the first half of 2010.Conclusion MV SIAs played an important role for measles control,and the incidence decrease.SIAs is a supplementary method for routine immunization,and an important strategy to the elimination of measles.
