Abstract
A graphite ore in Shandong Province belongs to the type of refractory graphite.In order to get qualified graphite products experimental study on the graphite ore was conducted.The graphite ore was a scale-like structure of graphite,which was mainly composed of graphite,mica,a large amount of slime,feldspar,quartz,tremolite,followed by mica,calcite and so on.The average particle size was 0.17 mm,with-0.074 mm content of 13.84%,containing mainly fine-grained and high viscosity particles.The experimental results showed that direct flotation tests cannot produce qualified graphite concentrate,taking into account of its composition with more mud.After the desliming tests flotation experiments were carried out which produced a final graphite concentrate with a grade of 97%and a recovery of 87%.
