Abstract
The dry shrinkage, temperature shrinkage and freezethaw cycling resistance of cementstabilized and fly ashlime macadam base were compared through experiments, and the factors influencing the deformation properties of cementstabilized macadam base were investigated. The test results indicate that:(1) The dry shrinkage ratio and temperature shrinkage ratio of fly ashlime macadam base are much higher than that of cementstabilized macadam base;(2)The freezethaw cycling resistance of cementstabilized macadam base is better than that of fly ashlime macadam base;(3) The dry shrinkage, temperature shrinkage and freezethaw cycling resistance of cementstabilized macadam base is influenced by cement content, kinds and sizedistribution of the aggregate, etc. The relative mechanisms leading to the test results are discussed in the paper.
