Expression of matrix metalloproteinase-9(MMP-9) in gastric carcinoma

Abstract

Objective To explore the expression and significance of matrix metalloproteinase-9(MMP-9) in gastric carcinoma.Methods S-P immunohistochemical method was used to examine the expression of MMP-9.Results The expression of MMP-9 was detected in one specimen of nomal gastric tissue,the positive signals rate in gastric carcinoma was 91.5%(43/47).The expression intensity of MMP-9 correlated with lymph node metastasis(P0.05)and serosal invasion(P0.01).Conclusion The results suggests that MMP-9 might be important marker for determining the malignant biological behavor of gastric carcinoma.
