Abstract

Zhang Wei,who always insists on an elite position, provides us with a few characters in his novels who persistently seek their spiritual homeland. The leading characters in Clan and Baihui adhere to the last spiritual homeland all the time and insist on the aloof moral idealism.Chunyu Yang,a character in Why We do not Forget Holyhock, starts his pilgrimage journey though he does not know where the end is.By these characters,we can understand the hard course of intellectuals in seeking their spiritual homeland.Their existence indicates that heroism and idealism still survive in the blood of Chinese intellectuals after 1990s.
