Reformation of Manners and Its Influence to the Evolution of Qin Culture

During the Warring States Period,King Xiaogong of Qin state introduced Shang Yang,the representative figure of the Law School,to reform the manners of Qin people in order to fight against other Six States in the east.Shangyang's reform greatly changed the mind of Qin people,encouraged them to fight bravely and to engage in farming actively,which laid material and spiritual foundation for the development of Qin culture and military force.With the might troops and new culture,Qin Shihuang finally unified China,and established the first multi-nationalities and centralized country,but the former six states were still culturally independent,they degraded Qin as barbarians and refused to obey them.In order to construct a universal Qin culture,Emperor Qin Shihuang issued strict laws to standardizing Qin State culture to all territory of the empire,but failed,partly due to the changed situation and degrading cultural elite.
