Abstract

Objective: To explore the cognitive potentials of P300 evaluating cognitive impairment for schizophrenia patients. Method: 112 cases of schizophrenia were divided into two groups. The experiment group was in accord with ICD-10 Schizophrenia diagnostic criteria, and the control group was healthy. The P300 recording before the treatment and after treatment for 4- 12 weeks were finished, and CPT, WCST questionnaires were assessed. The amplitude and the latencies of P300, the scores of the questionnaire were compared. Result: Compared with the control group, the experiment group's latencies of P300 were prolong, and the wave amplitude was lower(P0.05). Compared with the prior treatment, the experiment group's latencies of P300 were shorten, and the amplitude was higher after 12 weeks' treatment(P0.05). Total trials, preservative errors, number of random errors were higher than the control group, and the CPT scores were lower than the control group. Compared with the prior treatment, the experiment group's total trials, preservative errors, number of random errors were lower, and the CPT scores were higher(P0.05). Conclusion: There were some cognitive impairment in the schizophrenia patients, treatment could improve the cognitive function, P300 can reflect the status of the cognitive function and prognosis of the patients with schizophrenia.
