A Control and Aiming Scheme for the Gimbaled Warhead

Abstract

Considering that the traditional isotropic warhead of missile can not aim at the target in two directions of pitch and azimuth angle,we established a relative movement model of missile and target for the missile with gimbaled warhead. Based on the model and the fact that the fragments will spray for different distances at different aiming angles,we took the optimal spray distance the centre fragment as the basis for attacking,and realized the control to fragments in two directions. Then,the resolution of fuse booming delay time was calculated out. At last,the result of simulation proved that the with the current measuring error of relative velocity and miss distance,the aiming scheme based on the optimal flying distance can be applied in direction control of the warhead.
