Abstract
The labyrinth weir is a thin-plate weir which is layed by tooth and broken line in a plane. It width of the overflow edge is several times as much as straight line weir. And it has larger overflow capacity in lower water head.It is suitable for the spillway regulation project whose overflow width is limited and whose discharge capacity increases. The old spillway of Shiywuan Reservoir is controlled by the gated broad-crested weir. It's replaced by labyrinth weir with no gate, the effect is remarkable in ecomomic, effiency and management.
