Abstract
After clarifying the concept and correlation of several velocities, the existent problems of interior ballistics and development directions of interior ballistics research were brought forward. To some extent, earlier gun interior ballistics took the initial firing data and loading parameters under standard conditions as focal point, and it was interior ballistics under standard conditions. In modern warfare, one of the important missions of interior ballistics is that it should have the capability to rapidly and precisely provide real-time initial velocity under the conditions of field combat. All the work of determination of the gun real-time initial velocity under field conditions can be regarded as the study content of real-time interior ballistics.
