Abstract

The compatibility of 1,1-diamino-2,2-dinitroethylene(FOX-7) with some important components of composite modified double base(CMDB) propellant and energy parameters and combustion characteristics of the insensitive and minimum smoke propellants containing FOX-7 were studied. The results show that the binary systems of FOX-7 with the main components of CMDB propellant have good compatibility. The theoretical specific impulse of the propellants increase with the mass fraction of gradually substituting NC and TMETN with FOX-7 in an equal mass ratio. The energy of the propellant increase more when FOX-7 is replaced with RDX.The pressure exponent of the insensitive and minimum smoke propellants containing FOX-7 is high. Some lead salts can increase the burning rates of the propellants, but their abilities of reducing the pressure exponent have a relation with used catalyst kind.
