Abstract
The effects of ClO~-_4 on measurement of chemical oxygen demand(COD) of water were studied by comparison of potassium dichromate method and potassium permanganate method. The results show that the COD value(COD_(Cr)) by potassium dichromate method and the COD value(COD_(OH)) by potassium permanganate method have linear relationship for water sample with the low concentration of chloride ion(the concentration of chloride ion is less 1 000 mg per liter),while COD_(Cr) and COD_(OH) have no linear relationship for water sample with the high concentration of chloride ion.The high concentration of chloride ion has considerable effects on COD_(Cr) value which regularity could be expressed by second-degree polynomial.
