Abstract

[Objective]To study the effect of Vitamin C in combination with cisplatin on growth in human cervical cancer cell line Hela. [Methods] Cell proliferation was evaluated by MTT assay. The distribution of cell cycle, the rate of apoptosis were observed by flow cytometer respectively. [Results] Vitamin C can significantly inhibit Hela cells growth and proliferation , arrest them in G0/G1 phase and induce their apoptosis. When treatment with combination of Vitamin C and DDP, the inhibitory effect on proliferation and apoptosis was markedly enhanced. [Conclusion] Vitamin C can promote Hela cell line's sensitivity to DDP through increasing the rate of apoptosis , and can promote the inhibition of the growth and proliferation in Hela cells.
