Abstract

Objective To explore the influence of nasal feeding methods on stress ulcer occurrence rate in severe craniocerebral injury patients. Methods The patients with severe craniocerebral injury were randomly divided into 3 groups, an experimental group 1 (n=52), an experimental group 2 (n=45) and a control group (n=37). The controls were fed liquid fooding via nasal feeding tube with an interval of 2 h by using traditional method; patients in the group 1 were given liquid food on continuous basis over a peroid of 24 h via a micropump; the patients in the group 2 were given liquid food by injection with a time interval of 1 h. They were fed with the identical fluid food and observed for the occurrence of stress ulcer and changes of the pH of gastric juice. Results There were significant differences in the incidence of stress ulcer and pH between group 1 and group 2 and between group 1 and controls (P0.01,P0.05).Conclusion The nasal feeding method of 24 h continuous basis over a peroid infusion can significantly lower the incidence of stress ulcer.
