White Tiger Is Not the Totem of Huba--the Ancesters of the Tujia Nationality in the West of Hunan and Hubei

Abstract

The worshipers of white tiger didnot name their own tribes after Baihu(white tiger);they didn't forebid hunting tigers or intermarriage.So white tiger is not the totem of the Huba tribe. It can be seen from the historical records that,that the Huba tribe worship white tiger means worshiping the ghost of their first spiritual ancester.Therefore,worship of white tiger is the worship of ancesters;and god of white tiger is the god of ancesters for the Huba tribe.
