Abstract
Objective To explore a better approach of internal jugular vein puncture for patients who is difficult to operate.Methods 100 Patients who were probably difficult to pucture were divided into two groups.The internal jugular vein puncture was performed by the modified middle-approach(test group) and conventional methods(control group) respectively,observing the successful rate,puncture time and complications in two groups.Results 49 patients in test group were successfully catheterized,the successful rate was 98%,and the 39 patients in control group were successfully catheterized,the successful rate was 78%(P 0.01).The puncture time was(4.3±3.0)min in test group,while(8.5±5.1) min in control group(P0.01).The incidence of accidental puncture occurred in 2 cases(4%) in test group and 7 cases(14%)in control group(P0.05).Conclusion Compared with conventional methods,modified middle approach puncture offers both convenience and high efficiency.
