Abstract
The seed of Chaenomeles sinensis(Thouin) Koehne was cultivated in the MS media which were composed of the different concentrations of NaCl respectively to study the effects of NaCl stress on seed germination and young seedling growth in this program.The results showed that the germination percentage of the seeds and the root system activities of Chaenomeles sinensis were decreased with the increase of NaCl concentration added.The contents of chlorophyll,SOD enzyme activities and POD enzyme activities in leaves were also increased.But these three indexes were decreased when the concentrations of NaCl were over higher in media.The MDA contents of plants under NaCl stresses were increased with the increase of NaCl added,but lower than the control.
