Abstract
In order to study the polymorphism and variation of exon 3 of MSTN gene in Tianzhu White yak,DNA fragments containing MSTN gene exon 3 were amplified and analysed using PCR single-strand conformational polymorphism(SSCP),DNA sequence analysis were used to detect genetic variation. The results showed that the polymorphism of the exon 3 of MSTN gene in Tianzhu White yak was controlled by A and B alleles which formed three genotypes namely AA,AB and BB,and the frequencies of them were 0.892 6,0.106 0 and 0.001 4,respectively.Sequence analysis indicated that there was one single nucleotide mutation A to G at 41 bp,which was a synonymous mutation.Statistical results showed that MSTN gene exon 3 in Tianzhu White yak has low level of sequence polymorphism.
