Geological Characteristics and Prospecting Direction of the Wujiapu Molybdenum Deposit in Liaoning Province

The Wujiapu molybdenum deposit is located in the center of the Benxi-Fengcheng molymetallic ore-forming belt in the northern part of the Liaodong rift.It is mainly occurs in the Paleoproterozoic porphyritic granite structural fissures.The molybdenum mineralization is related to the Late Jurassic Baishuisi granite invasion.The wallrock alteration with the mineralization is silicification,potassic,pyritization and sericitize.The ore minerals are chiefly molbdenites.The mineralization principally is the veinlet disseminated type,and the deposit has the same characteristics with the porphyry deposit type.The favorable area for ore-hunting is in the outside contact zone between the middle Jurassic granite,Paleoproterozoic granite and Liaohe group strata.There would be a good prospecting future.
