Expression of survivin and PCNA in gastric carcinoma and their relationship

Objective:To observe the relationship between survivin expression and the biological behavior,as well as its correlation with the expression of PCNA in gastric carcinoma tissues.Methods:The expressions of survivin and PCNA were examined in 51 cases of the gastric carcinoma and 47 cases of peri-carcinoma tissues by immunohistochemical SP method.Results:The positive rates of survivin and PCNA in gastric carcinoma were significantly higher than that in peri-carcinoma tissues(P0.05).There was a significant relationship between survivin gene expression and lymph node metastases,TNM stages and the invasive depth of gastric carcinoma(P0.05).There was a significant relationship between PCNA gene expression and pathology differentiation and lymph node metastases of gastric carcinoma(P0.05).The expression of survivin was positively correlated with that of PCNA(P0.05).Conclusion:Survivin and PCNA may play certain roles in the oncogenesis and progression of gastric carcinoma.Detection of these gene products has positive effects on malignancy determination,prognosis and treatment of gastric carcinoma.
