Michael Slote's Virtue Theory and Moral Psychology

As one of the most important theorists,Michael Slote's virtue theory is the representative of contemporary virtue ethics which emphasize the significance of moral psychology.According with his recent works and ideas,this article discuss and review separately Slote's two approaches,Common virtue ethics and Agent-based Virtue ethics,and reveal the presumption of moral psychology behind them.Slote's virtue theory and his moral psychology show the trait of contemporary virtue ethics which pay more attention to moral agent's inner world.
