Abstract
The paper studies the effect of water stress upon ornamental quality in cut roses, after the treatment of water stress for 24 hours, at 22 - 25℃ and 40% - 60% relative humidity. It analyses the interrelation between vaase life and the reduction of the maximum value of increase rate of flower and the fresh weight loss rate. 'Red Success' and 'Golden Times' show remarable positive interrelation, the daily average ornamental value decreased,'Gold Emblem' lowers interrelation coefficient, its ornamental quality sufferes little influence. The results indicated that screen higher tolerance of cut rose to water stress is possible and essential, prevention of water loss is the important measure of cut rose preservation in postharvest storage and transporting.
