Experience in thyroidectomy for substernal goiter with cervical collar incision

Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of thyroidectomy for substernal goiter with cervical collar incision.Methods The clinical data of 21 patients with substernal goiter in this hospital from 1998 to 2006 were retrospectively analyzed.Results All patients were cured and no complication happened in them.Conclusion The procedure of thyroidectomy for substernal goiter with cervical collar incision is applicable with the advantages of mini-wound and rapid recovery.j
