Value of endoscopic mucosal resection in endoscopic polypectomy

Abstract

Objective To observe the value of endoscopic mucosal resection ( EMR) in endoscopic polypectomy. Methods One hundred and seventy-three cases of colorectal polyps were removed by EMR. The condition of the wound surface and the incidence rate of complications were recorded and discussed. Results All cases were well done and no complication occured. The wound of EMR was more superficial than that of the regular electric coagulation polypectomy. Conclusion EMR used in endoscopic polypectomy is effective and safe.
