Crisis Response with Soft Law in China in Ancient Times from the Perspective of the Famine-eradication Policy of the Northern Song Dynasty

The efficient handling of famines is related to the social stability. The Northern Song Dynasty is one of the most successful ones in China in ancient times in terms of famine- eradication. The Imperial Court of the Northern Song Dynasty got well prepared for famine through the establishment of storehouses,the share policy on a voluntary basis,and the administration with Confucian morality,which reduced the famine risks and provided a successful example for famine- eradication with much theoretical and practical value.
