Abstract

Objective To investigate the perfusion features of hepatic focal inflammatory lesions with contrast-enhanced ultrasound(CEUS).Methods The ultrasonic characteristics of conventional ultrasound and CEUS in 10 patients with hepatic inflammatory lesions(4 with hepatic tuberculosis,6 with liver abscess)were retrospectively analyzed. All patients were finally proved with pathological and clinical diagnosis. The location, size, boundary and internal echo of lesions were observed, and the enhancement level, enhancement modality and the changes in different phases were observed. Results Among 12 lesions of 10 patients, rim enhancement with central non-enhanced areas was showed in 5 lesions, diffuse enhancement was observed in 3 lesions, and honey comb-like enhancement was found in 4 lesions. In arterial phase, early hyper-enhancement was found in 9 lesions, while simultaneously iso-enhancement was found in the other 3 lesions. In portal and late phase,iso-enhancement was showed in 9 lesions and hypo-enhancement in the others.Of the 12 hepatic inflammatory lesions,CEUS approach correctly diagnosed 11 lesions, misdiagnosed 1 lesion, the diagnostic accuracy was 91.67%.Conclusion The ultrasonic characteristics of CEUS in hepatic focal inflammatory lesions is helpful to improve the diagnostic accuracy of hepatic focal inflammatory lesions.
