Abstract
In railway system, the upper viaduct is modeled with Timoshenko beam, while the column and the lower parts are modeled with finite element method. By the discrete calculation, the support counterforce of Timoshenko beam subjected to a few moving loads is worked out. Then each counterforce is used as an input force in the finite element models. As a result, the dynamic response of ground with and without open drain can be calculated and compared.
