Study on Settlement Calculation of Rigid Pile Composite Foundation

Abstract

The composite pile foundation,which accounts for the bearing strength of pile and soil under pile cap together,is one type of pile foundations,and has been widely applied in coastal areas.The method of settlement calculating in the paper,combining the modified Geddes with the Boussinesq solution,is used to calculate the settlement of the rigid pile composite foundation in soft clay,in which such factors as the pile's loading transfer characteristics,skin friction,uniform load and so on are considered.From the calculation of a project,it is shown that the calculated results are in agreement with the test results.
