Abstract

The bedding and structures on bedding plane of quartz sandstone are the dominant landscapes in Zhangshiyan geological park. The comprehensive and quantitative description on the spatial pattern, and the reasonable protection and exploitation of its geological relics are important means for improving tourism and maintaining sustainable development of the park. This paper makes a classification of scenic spots for each section of the park based on the rankings of a variety of indexes which include four quantitative indexes of quantity, level, type and reservation/exploitation of the geological relics, and five quantitative characterization index factors of geological relic ratio, national level geological relic ratio, relic abundance, the fitness with the surrounding tourism resources, the quantity and proportion of the function sections. Some constructive suggestions are provided for the conservation of geological relics and the geological park constructions against the current status of the park.
