Abstract
In terms of the demand of current operation and management of the existing highway bridges in our country,the objective and the basic framework of the bridge management system based on smart-client were analyzed in this paper.Based on the Smart Client and Dotnet2.0 frameworks,the Bridge Inspection Rating Maintenance and Management System(BirMMS) was developed by applying object-oriented programming technology.The model design of each subsystem was introduced from the following perspectives: smart-client network support,design of central database and relationship among the data,and bridge management of project-level and network-level.Besides,the latest mathematical method of data mining and artificial intelligence was applied in optimizing decision analysis.Through verification of three long-span bridges of certain expressway,the system achieves the capability of systemizing and programming the bridge maintenance,and of rationally distributing the maintenance fund.
