Abstract
Objective: To investigate the risk factors, surgery timing and complications in pre-placental cesarean section hysterectomy. Methods: Retrospectively analyzed all the 276 cases of placenta previa hospitalized the Third Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from February 2010 to February 2012 of which 21 cases underwent hysterectomy. Results: The risk factors of hysterectomy in placenta previa patients including the increasing number of pregnancy and production, the previous history of cesarean section, complete placenta previa, placenta attached to the anterior wall of uterus, placenta accreta and heavy bleeding in surgery.Massive bleeding during the surgery that could not stop by conservative way,the patient should be considered to have a hysterectomy, the surgical approach was recommended to subtotal hysterectomy. The common complications are hemorrhagic shock,DIC and postoperative infection. Conclusion: It is important to pay attention to the risk factors for placenta previa,It may probably minimize the occurrence of hysterectomy and its complications in placenta previa through improving the relevant prenatal examinations, appropriately selecting of delivery, and combined with well preparation before surgery.
