Clinical comparative analysls on extended release and immediate release venlafaxine

Abstract

Objective:To detect the efficacy and side effect of release venlafaxine. Method:The efficiency and side effect of extended released (72 cases,XR) and immediate release venlafaxine (68 cases,IR)were compared. Results:Extended release venlafaxine had faster in onset of effciency.Changed manic was more in group IR than that in group XR.Dysuria,epilepsy and vomit happened only in group IR,while drug-removing reaction occurred only in group XR.For patients without improvement after 6 weeks original treatment in XR group and IR group,they were shifted to the other group.Afterwards,50.0% and 53.3% of them experienced favorable results. Conclusion:Extended release venlafaxine has faster efficiency,milder side effects.It is more available in clinical use.
