The Historical Development of "Advocating Feelings" Thought in the Confucian Moral Philosophy

Advocating is an important characteristic of the Confucian moral philosophy,which has put feelings at the same status as heart,nature,Li.It has not only enriched the conceptions of these moral philosophies,but offered the realistic foundation for fully playing of the functions of Confucian ethical philosophy.Besides,it reflects the historical characteristic of Confucian moral philosophy to be beating with the pulse of the times with different attitudes towards feelings and developing feelings differently according to historical background.In view of this dimensionality,the development of the philosophy of Confucian morals demonstrates the spiral ascending situation from the pre-Qin period to Han and Tang Dynasties and then to Song and Ming Dynasties,which is also the same with the thought of advocating in Confucian moral philosophy.
