Abstract

Geographic Information System(GIS) provides a new platform for modern urban transportation information management.The geographic nature of urban transportation makes it a perfect area to adopt GIS technology.The GIS based urban transportation information database can effectively collect,store,process and manage the urban transportation data.The unique geographic analysis capability of GIS can integrate different transportation data together to expand the application area,and presents the result in a more meaningful and appealing way.
