Abstract

To qualify the effect of salinity on soil evaporation, the soil water characteristic curves at soil salt contents of 0.2%,0.6%,1.0% and 5.0% were measured respectively, and soil evaporation experiments with different salt contents by using soil columns were performed.A modified HYDRUS-1Dprogram was used to simulate the evaporation process with considering the effect of salinity on soil water characteristic curve. The results showed that:1soil at different salt contents had different soil moisture characteristic curve, when the soil water content was lower than 30%,the effect of soil salt content was significant, and the lower soil water content was,the greater effect of the salt content was;2Soil at different salt contents had different soil evaporation rate, and with the increasing of the salt content, the evaporation rate decreased significantly;3When the effect of salinity on soil water characteristic curve was considered, the simulation results better fitted with the measured values.
