Abstract
This paper describes the basic method for stability analysis of unloading rocks and presents the natural mechanics conditions of unloading rock mass, and points out that the loading process during rock excavation is an process of rock stress unloading.Based on the actual unloading during rock excavation in a tunnel, the theory of excavation unloading and method is used to analyze the initial, excavation and unloading conditions of rock mass. The results show that both stress field and displacement field of rock mass have changed in view of excavation unloading.
