Abstract

To increase the growth of the Pinus densiflora and P.thunbergii family trees resistant-Bursaphelenchus xylophilus(pine wood nematode) introduced from Japan, some of ectomycorrhizal fungi(EMF) strains were inoculated to the pine trees during 2005 to 2006.The results showed that, among the nine P.densiflora and P.thunbergii family trees treated with Be,the average height and diameter of most family trees were increased significantly compared with the control. The EMF strain Ap,La,Be,Pt1 and Pt2 significantly improved the growth of P.thunbergii.And the effects of these EMF trains on diameter were greater than that of the treated trees, but there was no obvious difference of effects among these strains. The effects of EMF strain Be,La and Rl with two ways of solid media and mudding were also compared in the study, the results indicated that Rl with mudding increased the trees growth more significantly than with solid media, while for La and Be,the effects of the strains with solid and mudding were quite different whice depended on the families. Moreover, the growth of the P.densiflora and P.thunbergii family trees resistant-Bursaphelenchus xylophilus could be significantly increased when treated with EMF.
