Abstract
On the base of comparison of all kinds of firewalls, discusses the advantages and disadvantages of embedded Linux,then gives a design of hardware firewall based on embedded Linux,lastly presents every step of it. For the real-time request of embedded OS and the performance of firewall, this paper introduces the theory of RTLinux(a kind of hard real-time Linux API) and RTnet,then draws a firewall framework using RTLinux and RTnet.The hardware firewall based on embedded Linux is better than software firewall in performance and lower than hardware firewall in price.
