Abstract
This paper holds that metaphysics in the Wei and Jin Dynasties takes different features in different stages, but it still incorporates with Confucianism and Taoism centering on MingjiaoandNatureand attempts to form a guiding theory suitable for the realistic social needs. But the objective result turns away from the theoretical goals. Metaphysics in the Wei and Jin dynasties is a failure to the theoretical guidance of realistic society; on the contrary,it forms a unique aesthetic spirit in incorporating Confucianism and Taoism, namely, the absolute pursuit of beauty based on the reality. Therefore, the profound understanding of the aesthetic spirit, in fact, is the profound understanding of metaphysics in the Wei and Jin dynasties.
