The Influence of the Soviet Union and the Communist International upon Sun Yat-sen's Revolutionary Thought

The Soviet Union and the Communist International searched for an ally in China for the aim of the oriental strategy and finally selected Sun Yat sen, who anxiously hoped to get help from them to extricate himself from the political predicament because of Chen Jiong ming' mutiny. As a result, they established a cooperative relation. The influence of the Soviet Union and the Communist International upon Sun Yat sen's revolutionary thought can be seen from not only the reorganization of the Kuomintang and the reexplanation of the three principles but also the adjustment of Sun Yat sen's revolutionary tactics. But the influence is still limited. Judged by Sun Yat sen's speeches and actions after the reorganization of Kuomintang, the revolutionary ideology of Sun Yat sen did not have a radical change.
