Abstract
The virtual assembly is considered as the renovation for the assembly technique.By means of computer, the assembly process can be extended to the virtual 3D space and each part of the product body can be observed dynamically.Taking the gear-pump assembly as an example, the pump model is established by using the software Pro/E.The methods of interactive assembling with the virtual reality modeling language(VRML) are introduced. The key technology in modeling based on Pro/E and VRML is also described emphatically. The optimization and compression of VRML files, the realization of animation with VRML as well as the collision checking of assembly are also expounded. It can provide the experience for the virtual assembly of complex mechanical products with these technique and methods.
