Empirical analysis of the income gap between urban and rural residents

The paper analyzed the basic situation of the income gap between urbanite and rural by the interrelated data of 1990—2011 years in the empirical point of view and also constructed multiple regression model to analyze the main causes of it.The empirical results showed that: the investment of labor force elements with the income gap between urban and rural residents were positively related;The increase of dual economic structure coefficient would reduce the income gap between urban and rural areas,and would not expand the income gap between urban and rural areas;The growth of urbanization level and per capita GDP would expand the improvement of income gap between urban and rural area,and would not reduce the income gap between urban and rural areas;Industry and industrialization didn't have a significant influence on the income gap between urban and rural residents.
