Abstract

Estimation on resistance to late blight ( Phytophthora infestans ) of the 48 crosses potato clones was conducted with Line X tester experiment on the Farm of Yunnan Agricultural University from 1998 to 1999 RUDP and 4 REP have been used in the experiment Their resistance was analysed according to the method of Jan W Henfling The area under disease progress curve(AUDPC) was calculated and their combining ability of resistance to late blight was analysed The results show that their resistance is mainly from their female parents, and the G C A of parents are more important on resistance to potato late blight;the female parents, such as 393085 5,391002 15,391002 6, etc,had better G C A;there was a better S C A between the 393280 58 and 392639 8 These results provide an important basis for selecting the parents with resistance to potato late blight in breeding
